C. was first introduced by the Ahar chalcolithic culture. Painted grey ware begin in upper Ganga plain around 1600 B. C. Oldest N. B. P. potteries dated 1400-1300 B. C. were reported Dr. B. R. Mani from Ayodhya. Excavation Black slipped pottery begin around 1200 B. C.
