Truths of Illusion, Volume 1 is a compilation of my first three short stories of fiction. Here, we meet Caridad Luján. In her search for answers about the sudden absence of her older sister Dolores, she becomes embroiled in her own web of lies. We see her story unfold as she not only confesses her sins to the priest every Sunday, but when running out of sins she's got to make them up. Régulo Montoya, the antihero of the second story of this series, What No One Knew Of The Dead Man, is passionate about chess, his bike ? a Suzuki Van Van 125 ? and betting on the lottery. Little does he know that after his death, the deepest secret of his existence will come to light, putting the love of his closest relatives to the test. Maruja, the sweet and brave main character of Presumed Indecent: The Story of Maruja Colina, has it all: A lovely family and the perfect job. On top of that, she also marries the man of her dreams, and they throw a lavish wedding party that everybody in La Neblina is talking about. After the party, she and her husband are supposed to fly to Hawaii for an unforgettable honeymoon, but all of her dreams get shattered at the very night of the wedding. In an attempt to conceal the beating he gave Maruja, Enzo is telling everyone in town that she was not virgin when they got married, which is considered a major transgression in an old fashion town like La Neblina, and he's not going to skimp on expenses to get his way. Now Maruja has to fight to recover her honor, and do whatever has to be done to get her life back.
