This is an electronic and print index to scholarly publications on Greek studies, consisting of a PC and Mac accessible CD-ROM, a print edition of the index, and a copy of "Euretes", a computer user's manual that is intended to aid record retrieval and conversion of information contained in the database. The annual is compiled from more than 950 scholarly journals and other publications, and holdings of major US libraries, the Library of Congress and the National Library of Greece. Indexing nearly 5100 journal paper titles and 3100 book titles, "Synopsis" covers the areas of Classical, Hellenistic, Biblical, Byzantine, Medieval, and Modern Greek Studies. The volume of collected material has been compiled in six indexes: 1) the general listing and author index; 2) the journal index; 3) the text index; 4) the name index; 5) the geographical index; and 6) the subject index. The annual also contains occasional reviews and bibliographical studies, calls for papers and announcements of scholarly conferences
