This is the second volume published as a result of the project “Towards an Area of Freedom, Security and Justice”. The first volume (The Substantive Criminal Law Competence of the EU, published at the end of 2012) dealt with the substantive criminal law cooperation of the EU, with special focus on the question of competence in this area. This second publication focuses on the procedural criminal law cooperation. This includes, first and foremost, the rules on jurisdiction, the rules on the extradition or surrender of persons, and the rules on other types of legal assistance between states.
