Despondent inventor Sol Levy saves a small bird from drowning, and in return it builds a device from junk washed away in a flood. Sol puts on the headphones and suddenly hears what the animals are saying. He hears about the Master Beggar, the Quantum Princess and the world she ran from, and her unthinkable plan to repair every heart in the universe. Sol just wants to eat, sleep, and find investors for his new device. But, like it or not, he gets drafted into the Master Beggar's strange confederacy.
