Who is Talking to Hu!
Mr Ezak Awuna
?Who is talking to HU!" tells the amazing story of Shamsudeen of Tabrizi who as the spiritual guide (man of HU) of his age, 800 years ago, developed a fascinating relationship with the highly regarded theologian and a professor of Islamic law, Jalal al-din Rumi (1207-1273), in order to reveal his unique spiritual teachings on love, tolerance, peaceful co-existence, societal harmony and personal spiritual development at a difficult time, and in a hostile and intolerant environment. Shams knew from onset that it would be difficult to openly propagate his unique spiritual knowledge in the Arabian Peninsula at that period when islam was reaching the zenith of its influence and power in the region and intolerance was on the increase. Therefore to teach his unique spiritual knowledge , he had to use the ?voice? of someone else. someone, who by virtue of his pedigree, influence and reputation was simply irreproachable and virtually untouchable. Thus, Rumi became the ?voice? and "tongue" of Shams-I-Tabrizi through which he bequeathed the world his great works; "Divan e Sham"s and "The Mathnawi" (which have been described as ?the root of the root of the root of all religions?). The story of Shams and Rumi forms the introductory chapter of the book and is followed by six other chapters consisting of the majestic, ecstatic and rapturous poetry from the Divan e shams and the Mathnawi. The book is made up of of 221 pages, with over 200 poems that are divided into six chapters and arranged according to the subject of the poems, which dwell on topics such as love, immortality, Soul travel , reincarnation, spiritual enlightenment etc. Built into every poem are the words of divine and eternal wisdom, which the reader, irrespective of faith, believes or doctrinal inclination will find thought provoking, uplifting, inspiring and enlightening. Whether reading for leisure or seeking inspiration and guidance to face the daily challenges of work, career or relationship, the readers would find in the pages of this book the wisdom and guidance which they seek. It is a useful guide for meditation on the issues of life. And the discerning readers would find in this book beneficial spiritual lessons, words of wisdom and helpful tools for understanding and dealing with the issues and vagaries of modern living.
