This book explores how management strategies can impact the microclimate in agricultural fields. It provides physical knowledge of how farmers' management practices affect the energy budget, soil temperature, and soil water content. The research found that fields with shorter tea tree canopies and greater exposure to the ground had more sensible heat, a wider diurnal temperature range, and a lower loss rate of soil water content.

While people can easily observe the first two phenomena, it is hard to imagine the dynamics of soil water content. These findings provide farmers with scientific evidence to manage their fields and help scientists adjust climate models based on measured data.
