Kaya Mabry never expected to be a young widow with a young son. When her little boy is faced with some life-changing medical issues, she decides to move across the country and take the tattoo artist position she was offered by Loki from the Poseidon's Warriors MC. As she and her grandmother navigate the challenges her little boy now faces, she comes under the watchful eyes of Specks, the club's IT guru.

Tyson "Specks" Leone grew up in a home with a sickly sibling who ended up dying in part due to medical neglect. When Kaya relocates to the East Coast for her son's medical care, he feels the need to ensure she won't be treated the same way as his mother was since his father was always out of town for work. Determined that another child will never endure or suffer what his brother did, he temporarily pushes his attraction aside to check into every aspect of her life.

However, when the past attempts to wreak havoc on the young mother's life, Specks' protective nature goes into overdrive and he finds himself standing in the gap to keep her safe. Even though he knows his secret could potentially end them before they even start, he'll always have her back.

Obstacles are just that until they're removed, sometimes in the most unlikely manner.
