This is volume 1 of a book written about women and men, in an attempt, to explore the dilemma of matching the needs of each gender and how they resonate with the needs of the other sex. In this volume, we present what women want especially in terms of male companions across different cultures. Dr. Abdo Husseiny writes about the male perception of what women want as far as male companions go. Dr. Maha Eladwi writes about the female perceptions of what women need. Dr. Manal Eladawy writes about the female perception of what women need in the Mideastern culture.
What women and men look for in their relationship with the opposite sex varies according to the influence of the culture of the masses, community customs and to some extent beliefs. Although arranged marriage and the role played by the matchmaker is still prevalent in some regions and communities, their impact on individual preferences is negligible. With changes in lifestyle, such traditional customs have been replaced by blind dates, social media, and commercial matchmakers. Nevertheless, the human elements that form the needs of women and men are universal. Only the details and consequences may vary from one culture to another and from one place to the other.
