Fifty million years ago, a tiny fern covered the Arctic Ocean, and thousands of centuries later, the once warm, tropical polar landscape teaming with dinosaurs, plants, and other animals, became an ice-covered wasteland, devoid of most life. Then, humans showed up on the planet forty-eight million years later, and their developing technologies began to warm the globe again, and the world's population became concerned. Nature wasn't happy, and it and humankind were about to go to war, and planet Earth and life itself were the prizes. Could the fern that cooled the Earth so long ago, do it again? And if it did, would Earth enter a new era, an ice age era that might destroy everything?
