If you have been part of a damaging relationship you know that it can dramatically affect your confidence and self esteem. If that relationship turns manipulative, violent or both it can leave you feeling like you will be damaged forever. With every year that passes a little more of you seems to disappear, leaving you feeling lost and isolated.

In 2015 my marriage broke down completely and I went through a bitter divorce. My children and I spent many months living in women's refuges in the UK. I had to face the reality of what my marriage had turned into and honestly I was an emotional wreck. I also had to find the courage to support my children through a desperately traumatic time in their lives.

So far from home and family, I desperately needed guidance from someone who cared. I missed my family and friends and whilst practical advice was easy to find I found that emotional support and advice was difficult to access.

This book has been written for all women living in refuge, those still in difficult relationships, and those who have found the strength to leave their abuser. And for the friends and family that support and care about these women.

It is my sincerest wish that by reading this book it will enable you to move forward with your life, that you can learn to like, respect and love yourself. That it gives you hope and joy.

It has been written from my heart to yours with a very deep love and caring for you. There is a beautiful life waiting for you on the other side of fear.
