In the interest of contributing to a more honest account of African American culture, this book illustrates the two-parent household very clearly. It is significantly important for all children to find positive images of the Black family as it is very challenging to do so in the mainstream arena. It is a small step toward helping our society foster and build core values that will contribute to the betterment of our society. The topic of the book is relatable as many children can connect to the longing for a younger sibling. In this book, Jaylen askes for a baby brother and what he got was an opportunity to be a good role model and an awesome big brother. This book provides vibrant images with the intent to enhance positive cultural identify and cultural intelligence. It is fun way to educate, be educated, and encourage reading activities.
