Love's Sublimity Story Elton Warder
Love's Sublimity Story
Elton Warder
Hawaii is a U. S. state in the Western United States, in the Pacific Ocean. It is the only state outside North America, the only state comprised entirely of islands, and the only state in the tropics. Hawaii is also one of a few U. S. states to have once been an independent nation.
The respected chronicler of Hawaiian culture, Mary Kawena Pukui, once said that, in Hawaii, unrequited love makes the best stories; hence, most of the old Polynesian legends and myths are tragic. Aptly then, seven of the stories in this book are tragic, though they each express elements of love's sublimity; the eighth, this book is the eternal tale, Hawaiian style, of how ultimately, true love triumphs over tragedy. For the old Hawaiians, love and bones were intimately intertwined, and so these stories too, are woven of the two themes, love and bones.
