Jeremy Cadoc, a recently ordained young preacher, arrives in the town of Jericho to start his first assignment as a parochial assistant. He finds that his superior, The Reverend Macum Bersa, uses the pulpit for his own benefit to enrich himself and run the town with the aid of his hired enforcers. Jeremy organizes the parishioners and townsfolk to make a stand and take back their town under his leadership, in the process stamping out Bersa and his gang. Along the way, he has to fight inner battle balancing the need for violent action with his Christian, humanitarian values.
