In the book, the author details the life of Adam and Eve after their expulsion from Eden, from Eve's viewpoint. She carries within her the guilt of having eaten the forbidden fruit, yet has difficulty accepting the punishment as fitting. Eve empties her heart to God as trial after trial appears, yet each time Jehovah (as she calls Him) answers her with reassurance and love.
