E a Lucca
Agustin comes to Venezuela to work with his uncle Santos Morandi in the cultivation and export of cocoa. They come from the Island of Corsica. Although Agustin is happy in America, his Corsican girlfriend is waiting for him in Europe to marry. This is just the beginning of a story that runs through three generations of Corsicans who arrived in the Port of Carúpano during the 19th century, combined the cultivation of cocoa with its export to Europe, renovated a port where foreign ships did not even dock, built aqueducts, the tram, and the cable to communicate with France. They formed extended families with the creoles, became involved in politics, and participated in wars; during peace, they made great fortunes.
