On her first night in The Badlands Science Park, Lizzie Chambers is challenged to find the sacred stone of her ancestral tribe. They believe it is hidden among the dinosaur bones buried beneath the park's strange, lunar landscape. As she searches in vain for the stone, she is tormented by the ghost of a famous fossil-hunter. Her belief in science is rattled by the supernatural presence. Why can only she see it? What does it want? Instead of helping her, it leads her to a discovery which threatens the success of her quest. Will she ever find the stone and return it to its rightful guardians, or is she destined to fail?
