Sarah Delaney, daughter of United States Congressman Cyrus Delaney and his wife, Audrey, accepts an entry-level job at WWBR Television Station in Woodbridge, New York. With an extensive education, her employer is suspicious about her motives for accepting the job. Sarah soon proves herself a valuable member of the stations' team. The co-anchor of the evening news, Adam Lockhart, catches Sarah's eye. After an accidental mishap involving the mayor of Woodbridge, Sarah fears her career in television has ended. Sarah finds her life is in danger after a murder takes place in her hometown.
