All nine stories in this collection are the author's actual memoirs or based on her memories. BLOOD is pure memoir. I used the actual names for people, including my husband, children, and myself, except for the doctors and my girlfriends. UNTITLED is a memoir, based on a boyfriend. We parked and gazed at each other when we were in love and very young. MORTY depicts early family conflicts. I changed all the names. In NIPPLES, I used the real name of my granddaughter, inquiring at age seven about my double mastectomy. NO-NO, is a composite story about non-communication. I included a couple at my parents' assistant living home. The man fed donuts to his lady friend who had Alzheimer's and could only say, "No-No". He was wild for her. I included details of my dad's Sundowner's syndrome, not being able to swallow, and being with him when he died. For FULL CIRCLE, I modified some of the names of family members, but used the real names of my maternal grandparents, Ethel and Mayer, as well as my great aunt Mirel. The details derived from actual events in their early lives with my mother and uncle. In BOOK BUDDIES, I used the real name of my late mother-in-law, Belle. I also used my daughter's name. AUNTIE TANYA was a memorable and loving person in my family. She and Uncle Itzik are real as is her friend, Ducci Singer. David Steinberg was her nephew and the stories about them are as I remember them. There really was a nurse named LISA WACKAR FARKAS, who was my home health care nurse. My fondness for her, and her name, her kindness and fun personality, left a wonderful memory
