The world that the books of the Bible were originally written in was very different from our modern world. The people of the Bible lived more agrarian and pastoral lives, whereas most modern people now have more technology that runs our lives. Furthermore, we work first, second, and third shift jobs, we've landed on the moon and built the internet to share knowledge around the world in a moment. Our nation can not produce enough food, but we have no famine as we can produce food in factories with high fructose corn syrup and even genetically modify food to grow better. While none of our modern-day wonders come close to the glory of God, these modern amenities can be used to create new metaphors to help us understand things that are beyond our comprehension, just as God, Jesus, and Angels did to help ancient people understand in terms they could comprehend. This is no different than how we could use metaphors to explain our modern world to people in ancient times. Unfortunately, sometimes we humans have a hard time believing things that we can not understand. Consider Tomas in the gospels account. I will use concepts spanning from computers to quantum physics to help modern humans understand God glory a little better. From there you need only to pray and read your Bible to grow closer in your walk with God on the road to salvation. I know that reading the Bible can seem like a daunting task, but I'll be here to walk you through it. In reading this you will be walked through the events in scripture in chronological order, and given a lot of fun facts to think about along the way. After reading this book you should consider reading a Bible cover to cover, you'll be amazed at what you learn, and how it may be different from what your family or even your church has taught you. Once you have read this book, go ahead, and read the Bible. Seriously, read it cover to cover, or perhaps in chronological order which you can look up online. This book is meant to help you through your own reading plan for the Bible, not to replace it. This is a sort of bridge, not the other side, which is where you want to be.
