In the wilds of North Wales, some legends never die. A highwayman stalks his quarry along the mountain roads, a witch communes with nature in her cottage in the forest, and a prince without a principality searches for something to occupy his time. Life goes on, as it has for hundreds of years. But not everyone is happy with this lack of progress. One man in particular has come to realise that there could be value in the old stories, and seeks to exploit the mythology in a quest for money and power. In the process he threatens not only the old way of life, but the very existence of these living legends, who must form an uneasy alliance to protect themselves and the country that they hold so dear. Packed with bandits, rogues, witches and mountain-fighters, The Road Agent draws on a number of traditional Welsh folk tales, repackaging them for a new generation while echoing its own narrative of keeping the legends alive.
