Man enjoys a sublime status because he can achieve that of his creator. Human life can be transcendent if he is elevated from his inferior conduct to superior levels of perfection. Although man cannot reach his ultimate excellence in this finite world, he can unite with his true essence through deeper contemplation, more learning from others' experiences and teachings, and improvement of his behavior, words, and deeds. What I have observed throughout my life on social relations, from animus to self-aggrandizement, racism, and other human annoying vices, has led me to start writing this collection of short stories. This book consists of sections corresponding to human traits. Each of them starts with a story and shows the value of excellence in that special feature and reminds them of human nature. This is followed by well-known poems, sayings, and quotations by prominent Iranian and world scholars, sages, intellectuals, and poets. This is so that readers realize that what can be a value in a community might be an anti-value in another. The stories and allegories presented in each section reflect our experiences and susceptibility with/to a certain trait and belief. I hope that reading these stories, readers get away from their routine self-indulgent life and start contemplating beyond their immediate environment and relationships. It is my hope that we will not take our lives for granted and seek to realize our true worth and unite with our perfect creator. This cannot be achieved unless we attempt to develop sublime traits in every moment of our lives in order to get our soul closer to our God.
