The book presents a large survey of leaf anatomical features that encompasses all the genera of subtribe Melittidinae (Labiatae/Lamiaceae), as well as representative species of the subfamilies Lamioideae and Nepetoideae, and a few species of the family Verbenaceae. It includes 100s of line drawings and photographs that have not been published before. It is a rich work for those interested in the plant leaf anatomy and its utilization in taxonomy and phylogenetic systematics. The book also serves as an excellent example on how to conduct a study in plant anatomy. The book is based on the masters' degree research project over the period of 1983-85 and completed in the early months of 1985.
