Life had handed Emma heartache and difficulty over the years and she struggled to figure out what Christmas was all about. Her brother, a Captain in the US Army, was stationed in Afghanistan, but he was due home for Christmas this year for the first time in five years. His whole company would be coming home. Jake wanted his sister Emma to find love, and he knew that his Major was a perfect match for Emma. He encouraged them both to write letters to one another and get to know each other. Emma and other business owners in Evergreen put together a special celebration for the troops called "Christmas for Heroes'. Emma and Kyle had the opportunity to find each other and Lucy, who was new in town. captured Jake's attention. Lucy was enough for Jake to consider the offer to work on base rather than re-deploy in January. Emma was thrilled her brother was finally going to be close. The crime rate in Evergreen increased in the New Year and Emma found herself captured by a human trafficking ring in a case of mistaken identity - or was it? The law enforcement and base troops worked together to get Emma back, and to put away the traffickers for good. Christmas comes around again and this time there are only good memories.
