There are times in history when there is a sequence of events that cannot be avoided and the unintended consequences are horrific. Examples include the French Revolution, the American Civil War, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Market Crash of 2008, the global Covid-19 pandemic, the death of the Mediterranean Sea in 2035, the United States Monetary Failure of 2045 and the World Currency Failure of 2079. During these events ordinary people are the ones who suffer and struggle to get through these events. Some make it, others do not. This is a story of a family living through a horrific time in Earth's history. Professor James Dawson lives with his family in a concrete bunker completely off grid in the year 2414, 335 years after the World Currency Failure of 2079. Knowledge of history has been lost to time; survival is all that is known now. Dawson, a brilliant man has adapted and invented and created systems to keep his family safe in a hostile world. This family man is smart, idealistic, scared and full of integrity. A few who live behind the compound walls live well. Those who do not, have no knowledge what exists behind the compound walls and barely survive. Lacking any formal governments, Enforcers from the compounds administer justice on the spot. Life has become a living hell outside of the walls of the compounds. Death and poverty are the standard of life. Crime and violence are a path to surviving. Mutiny among the Enforcers threaten what is left of humanity behind the compound walls. The weight of humanity has been put upon Dawson's shoulders to solve this problem. Will Professor Dawson transform himself and rise to the occasion to build his Time Machine that could alter the path of humanity or will humanity sink to yet another level of demise in this dystopian science fiction about life after the fall of society? This story is science fiction and I pray that it remains so.
