"I'll Feed You Later, Giraffe," employs rhyming and appealing illustrations to support healthy emotional development in children.
Often times, activities may be expected to be exciting or adventurous, but some children need more time and reassurance to build their confidence and comfort in tackling experiences that may seem scary or daunting. Validating emotions can help ease uncertainties and empower a child to approach and manage gradual exposure to challenging undertakings. Feeding giraffes can be a relatable scenario to highlight these intentions while also promoting empathy for other children. About the Authors
Suzanne and Becky began their friendship as a licensed Occupational Therapist and a certified Recreational Therapist while working at a renowned rehabilitation center for patients with physical disabilities. Their purpose was to provide meaning and support to individuals recovering from physical trauma. After they started their families, their calling to help others was deepened by their passion to provide emotional support for their children. Motivated by the realization that childhood is such a fragile yet pivotal time in human development, they began exploring the possibility of providing children with a tangible source of emotional and mental support through books. Their hope is that any child in need of understanding or empathy will have access to these books to help provide self-confidence and equip children with good coping skills and positive rationalization.
