The People's Power is a play that celebrates the power of noise also known as kelele in the on-going political struggle to get rid of tyrants in Africa. the tyrants kill people, they personalise the states and they steal public resources. When challenged, they resort to violence and deception to cover up their role. Immensely cunning, they claim that their life presidency projects are a sign that they stand with the masses. Whether they will be overthrown is not the question but when and how- could they manage to silence the deafening noise emerging from the opposition across the continent and beyond? The more the noise the better. The tyrants must be ejected partly with the persistent noise as the people all yell voicing individual and collective frustration and anger. The persistent noise made by the people in songs, drama, writings and more is therefore vital for the change sought for if that is all that can be done.
