King Halderon has sent Sir Sykes and his team to assist the dwarf brothers in finding the Dwarf Dagger of Grayson, one of only two forged from Dwarf steel and Elven magic. With the Elven dagger already returned, it is imperative to find and return the dagger so the dwarfs and elves can be truly united in friendship once more. What awaits them is the volatility from Barklif that overflows onto their quest and immediate chaos ensues. Although Emperor Deverin crushed the attempted coup by Grand General Crom, that action has plunged the Barklif Empire into turmoil. A wave of paranoia has swept through the hierarchy of the empire and Deverin is suspicious of everyone and that is multiplied when forces loyal to Crom free him from prison.
