We live in a social media heavy era where announcements on life events are at the forefront of our happiness. Pregnancy announcements, pregnancy journeys, gender reveals, and births are plastered on our timelines and stories. However, what we see less of are the grueling but real images of child loss and the struggle of infertility that millions of women are affected by every day. Remarkably, 1 in 4 women in the United States have or will experience child loss in their lives and 1 in 8 women have or will experience infertility throughout their lives. I wrote this book to provide a platform and guide for both individuals going through infertility and or loss as well as the close friends and family of these individuals. For many, keeping intimate details about infertility a secret is second nature. Especially among the Muslim community, this discourse is not well established even though it is so greatly needed! Not only is this book a "tell all" about my journey, but I hope it allows you to get an in-depth analysis on women who walk or have walked on this journey. We need to balance the social media scales with voices of parents who are struggling with infertility and loss behind closed doors. Infertility before loss, infertility after loss, and infertility on its own come with so much baggage. I hope you will find some hope and light through my struggles and get a raw and authentic image of my experiences both before and after my significant loss.
