The following Walker, Bitzer, and their family's ancestry information was collected from many sources since 1984. Most of the entries tell where the information was discovered, but some information was gathered even earlier-before I had any idea of printing a history-and in some of those cases I photocopied pages from books, manuscripts, etc. without noting the source information. However, where the latter occurred I have tried to carefully compare my information with other sources to determine its accuracy. In some cases I omitted questionable information. Nearly all of the information for "Harry St. Clair Walker and Margaret Bitzer" and much of "The Bitzer and Weisbrod Family History" chapters was taken from interviews with family members, or through correspondence with them. Special recognition should be extended to a few sources where more than average information was derived: Alexander Walker - Story by Myrtle Mauk Cunningham, Amana; The Community of True Inspiration by Bertha M. H. Shambaugh, family data from Mrs. Martin H. Fels of Homestead, Iowa and Kathie Young of Ford City, Pennsylvania. The pedigree charts in the back of this book include all of the families noted in the Table of Contents, plus many other ancestors whom you may someday wish to add on your own.
