God did not call Elders to look after money, or the administrative office of a local church. Those administrative duties are taken care of by capable people who are competent in the gift of administration, MS Word, Excel, Quick Books and Accounting. These are the people who are responsible for keeping accurate books and records for auditing by Canada Revenue Agency. They take care of the secular things. Elders take care of the spiritual things. God called Elders to care for the sheep. The word "Elder" means "Shepherd". Elders today spend too much time on administrative duties rather than spending time caring for the flock. Be what God has called you to be - an Elder - a Shepherd - take care of the sheep entrusted in your care.
