Song of the Sapphire Xinlin Chen

Verses fly out of layers of time and soar into the universe, like passionate butterflies darting into the fire, when I leaf through my poetry book. This collection includes English translation and original Chinese version of my 170 poems. Poetry evokes transhistorical empathy. I write in classical Chinese and translate them into modern English because I want to facilitate the understanding between Chinese and American by transferring the beauty of one language to another. If everyone lives their life with the heart of poetry, then happiness prevails in the world. If everyone understands each other with empathy, then harmony prevails in the world. If everyone learns about different cultures with compassion, then peace prevails in the world.
