Aloe and its use can be called a myth. The myth of its miraculous healing powers, the plant of immortality and of eternal youth, it all dates back in history. However, this is still a myth today, in the age when science and technology are on the march. What could otherwise explain so much interest in aloe, both in sick and healthy humans? Samo Kreft is a full professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, where he researches medicinal plants and other medicines of natural origin and lectures students of pharmacy.
