The Law's an Ass Douglas Hemingway
The Law's an Ass
Douglas Hemingway
This monologue is steeped in satire. It is a satirical sideswipe at the British legal system, it's architects, practitioners and those who have to endure the results of how law is dispensed - the general public. It draws from the 30-years of experience drawn from working in the Metropolitan Police. The writer gained his insights fro dealing directly with all the agencies that affect how our legal system is run. The examples used to highlight the anomalies in the system are 'true crime' stories although names places and dates have been altered or simply not even mentioned to protect the innocent. Politicians, lawyers, the media, the police and the public at large get the treatment, no one is spared. Everything written about is taken from the memory of the author and the in depth knowledge of the areas of law in which he worked. Nothing has come from computer data bases or as a result of research.
