Are you trying to pick a teen/young adult outdoor adventure? Are you up for the Dangerous Adventures series?

Do you want to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania-the highest freestanding mountain in the world? Do you want to go on a wild walking safari in Africa? Would you like to do it with a close friend? Would you like elements of the unexpected added to your adventure?

If so, The Lonely Skull---The Fourth Story in the Dangerous Adventure Series is the fast-paced, modern outdoor adventure for you.

The story begins after Max's Great Aunt asks 14 year-old Max and Hillary to return a chimpanzee skull to where it was discovered; 16,000 feet high on Africa's Mt Kilimanjaro. The skull is another one of the stolen heirlooms Max's Aunt stumbled across in a hidden vault. Max is delighted, he gets to be with Hillary and to climb a mountain. But then, Mom and Grandma invite themselves. That can cause problems since Max hasn't shared his special 'sensitivity secret' with Mom. She suspects something, something involving Hillary-but is that all?

Max has to return the skull, keep Mom in the dark, all while dealing with Hillary's newest love-being a photo journalist. That wouldn't be so hard if Hillary didn't want to document the terrible plight the Maasai face with government sanctioned land stealing and Mt Kilimanjaro's equally terrible problem with climate change. All while a Tanzanian minister watches their every move.

The Lonely Skull is based upon Robby Robertson's real life experiences. And, there really is a mysterious elephant skull at Kilimanjaro's 16,000 foot level. Many climbers have wondered why and how it came to be there. This story is a gripping novel that turns the why's and how's inside out.

Robby writes about the outdoors with total realism. The Lonely Skull will suit anyone who enjoyed Gary Paulsen's Hatchet or Roland Smith's Peak Marcello stories.
