Anders Thorpe arrived in Juneau, determined to swear off relationships with co-workers. He packs up everything important to him and disappears deep into the wilds of Alaska to check out a mine for the University. He didn't expect his co-worker to have eyes the color of agate.


Ujaruk has spent a lifetime overcoming societal prejudices and misperceptions about his Aleutian heritage. When his job as an archeologist sends him to work on an abandoned mine project, taking him back to the home he left long ago, he realizes it's time to make peace with his roots.


Thrown together by work, and proximity in the beauty and isolation of the Denali National Park, Anders and Ujaruk form an unexpected connection. Is it just a bond of convenience or can it be more? When man and nature collide, will their new relationship stand the test?


When the ground settles can they find a way to save each other from their fears? And will there be aftershocks?
