An original attempt to consider not just History but mainly Historiography through the centuries and in three continents, East and West, by a passionate amateur historian who tries to ponder on a lifetime of historical studies. His central guidelines: Thucydidian quest for "facts", a holistic approach to History not in compartmentalized concepts of "academic pidgeonholes" but in parallel and in harmony with other intellectual spheres like literature or religion, moderation in historical debates, avoiding the trap of anachronistic evaluations, a whole range of thoughts based on hundreds of bibliographical sources
