Persecution exists in many forms from subtle nuances to overt physical torture and even death. Christianity has not only survived but flourished in all the forms of persecution that have been unleashed upon believers for over 2,000 years. The reason is that believers in Christ understand that they are transient in this world and headed toward an eternity far removed from any pain, suffering, or despair. We are merely passing thru this life and any persecution is only momentary and He provides strength and grace for enduring, standing strong. "For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." 2 Cor 4:17-18 RSV The books in this "Christianity" series are meant to be useful, working guides with practical helps to "work out your salvation" (Phil 2:12-13). Each book in the Christianity series is based on the same premise -- to equip the Church toward maturity through Christ. This volume is slightly different as it is more of a historical survey rather than a Biblical study as the others have been. It includes a historical review of persecution from Abel to current day 2021 along with a discussion of the Rapture of the Church and the Mark of The Beast as seen during the seven year Tribulation period following the Rapture with special attention to social, economic, governmental changes recently and medical advancements that appear to advance toward this time period.
