Challenged by my granddaughter, Haley, to make-up a bedtime story, I was reluctant to do so. Refusing to take 'no' for an answer, the chapters began to unfold. Every night, she would beg, "Tell me the kitty story," and so with impromptu, nightly adventures, this story began to develop. Together, we added detail, dialog, and personality to the characters, allowing the animals to communicate among themselves in their own language. Each chapter is filled with lighthearted adventure, as only a child's bedtime story should be. Mama Cat, a barn cat and her litter of three, whom I had heard of from afar, became an inspiration for our story. Her motherly instincts to fend for her offspring are the attributes we have given to our fictional mother cat. Guided by their intuitive sense, our story book kittens are in search of a kindred soul who will give them a forever home. Compassionate, and with a tender heart for animals, Lauren's life takes an unexpected turn when a family of strays find her on vacation.
