A talented young woman from the streets of San Francisco helps bring down a corrupt American government. As an indirect result, she is recruited to help save the botched Venus terraforming project using her advanced nanotech skills. She adopts the slightly enhanced anthropup that was sent by the cops to flush her out of her underground lifestyle and takes him to Venus with her. On her way, she discovers a world of corporate intrigue that could take her life. The Ishtar Crisis is set in the mid 21st Century. It takes a dim view of the melding of national governments and corporations. It exalts a small group of clever individuals who manage to get around the dysfunctional system and complete their mission to prepare Venus for colonization.
