Death On The Bayou Frank Anastasio
Death On The Bayou
Frank Anastasio
Detective Steven Acer must leave. He must leave his life in the Florida Panhandle. He must leave because his beautiful and vivacious wife, Sunshine, has died. It was a boating accident. He was there, but he couldn't save her. He feels the sun has lost its light; that in the forever darkness he can't see her face. He can't tell if she still loves him. His life in Florida without her is meaningless and with far too many memories. A promotional advertisement welcoming new police officers to the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, catches his eye. He never looks back. His first assignment from the Captain is to investigate a horrible death - with whispers of human trafficking - discovered in a Louisiana bayou just south of the beautiful city. Why and how were these bodies there? Who was responsible? No suspect. No motive. It didn't make any sense. Frustrated with not being able to make any progress in the case, Steven, against his better judgment, allows himself to become involved in following a mysterious woman; a woman begging for handouts on the streets of the New Orleans French Quarter. Why does she run when she notices him? Why does she enter upscale clothing stores and beauty salons and transform herself from a beggar to a beauty? She seems to be in a hurry. Why? Where is she going?See if his detective curiosity and unintended attraction to this mystery woman help solve this DEATH ON THE BAYOU.
