Level Two analysis is done after the Level One Process of Discovery is completed. After completing the Process of Discovery analysis of the poll-tax in Matthew 17 it was discovered that the author said it was a two-drachmae tax when indeed it was 1/2 shekel tax. The two-drachmae tax superseded the 1/2 shekel Temple tax. Level two asks the question as to whether the narrative occurred or was it added to the Gospel for the purpose of the Gentile Christian church's acceptance by the Roman Empire.
