Cassandra Hartzel's reoccurring nightmares become reality when she uncovers a family secret that has been kept hidden for decades. In her terrifying dreams, Cassandra envisions herself as her grandmother Jeannie-a young woman who was unjustly executed in the gas chamber in 1979. She also discovers that she is identical to Jeannie and finds herself driven to force her estranged grandfather, Brett Wilkson-whose lies sent Jeannie to her death-to tell the truth and clear Jeannie's name. Meanwhile, Cassandra is harassed by a vicious coworker, who not only has a grudge against Cassandra, but had one against Jeannie as well. Then, she is introduced to a clairvoyant, free spirit who prophesies to Cassandra that Jeannie had some unfinished business to complete before Cassandra can return to her original identity.
