What Wild Animals Have to Say to Trump Dennis R Allen

The assault on wild animals and the environment by the Trump administration and the Republican Party has recently included efforts to devalue the most successful and significant protective legislation for wild animals-the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Based on research by Harvard Law School and Columbia Law School, the New York Times reported in September 2019 that more than eighty environmental rules and regulations have already been, or will be, repealed by the Trump administration. Efforts to open up Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to needless fossil fuel extraction, by the Trump administration, threatens wild animals like polar bears, grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, wolves, snow geese, peregrine falcons, and many migratory birds. The energy independence policy of President Trump and the Republican Party is a pretext to provide generous federal government subsidies to the fossil fuel extraction industry. This program is based on (1) thwart the development of alternative energy sources, (2) provide cheap land-lease contracts to the fossil fuel industry with extremely favorable terms, (3) deregulate federal statutes and executive orders designed to protect wild animals and the environment, (4) perform little or no oversight of extraction processes, and (5) blame oil spills on the "radical environmentalist."In addition to nonfiction essays, What Wild Animals Have to Say to Trump includes photos of wild animals in their natural habitat and free-roaming animals on Scottish islands. The mischievous and irreverent captions below each photo of an animal are presented as a statement from that animal.
