Twenty Bricks Ron Coody
Twenty Bricks
Ron Coody
Perhaps this book is a small attempt to seek a bit of redemption for that most humble of objects cast into one of the really bad roles in the story of the Hebrew people when as slaves they were stuck down in the straw and mud of Egypt. There, in the brick pits the slaves sweated and suffered, waiting and waiting for their redeemer. One can easily imagine they might come to despise bricks, even hate the very sight of them. Brick after brick, spread out under the relentless, beating sun of the Nile River valley. Year after year, generation after generation. Would you want to see another brick again as long as you lived? But it wasn't the brick's fault. Those wet bricks, freshly molded and put out to dry under the same baking sunshine didn't have a say in the matter. They didn't have a say at all. Until now.
