Stohnentide

Travelers to Newhaven often hear dark rumors, whispers about the "grave-flood," the Stohnentide or moaning tide, the dead mist that rises every few decades. But these stories are only told among travelers: the residents have no memory of any horror, and they avoid looking at the debris, the flood marks...the sudden appearance of new graves shortly after each flood. One November day in 1950, twins Max and Valerie arrive at the Long Island Inn for their shifts, hoping for a short easy day...but the Stohnentide returns, twisting the ocean into a deadly terror as something rides in the wind, to begin another assault. The twins are trapped on Long Island, but one guest, a mysterious researcher, might have an answer, and a way out.
