Rosamund (pronounced Roz-a-mund) Lavender known as Rosie, is a vicar's daughter living in Lincolnshire, 1880. Still in the schoolroom, however she has outgrown her governess. Always getting herself and her siblings into scrapes. After one particular incident it is deemed that she is to become more ladylike. The new rules are somewhat trying on our heroine. Unexpectedly, Rosamund's aunt Vivienne agrees to sponsor Rosie for the season. Stephanie her cousin is being presented at the same time. Rosie and Stephanie are popular young ladies once they have made their debut. With the extended family of brothers, cousins and life-long friends they form a core group that are welcome everywhere as the season progresses. Adventures abound around the capital and Rosie falls in love with a nice young man and after a few hiccups they are allowed to be together.
