When 8-year-old twin boys, Scott and Steve Barnett were separated after their mother's death they were sent into the foster care system. Follow their lives as they take drastically different paths. Scottie got a rough start in life, but at the age of 12 he was saved and adopted by a loving school teacher and her husband, who set his life on path and with a lot of love and patience helped him succeed to fulfill his dreams. However, for his twin brother Stevie, things did not work out so well for him. He did not have the same opportunities as his brother had. He found himself a long way from home, and homeless at the age of 12 years. In order to survive on the streets of Memphis this not so street smart child got involved with some rough characters that ultimately landed him in prison at the age of 14. He was sentenced to 45 years in adult prison, when he was just barely a teenager. The two brothers lost touch for 12 years before a kind hearted social worker linked them back together. Their lives were always meant to be together, but the system tried to keep them apart.
