South of the town of Fort Stockton, Texas there stands a lonely mountain. I grew up just fifteen miles north of its peak, never knowing how it was formed. Only after the state highway sign was placed on U. S. 385 (heading north and south) did I wonder what in the world was an 'astrobleme.' I began to research the mountains history and story. One thing led to another, and my imagination got involved! That's when I brought ancient aliens into the picture, and the rest is history. But in "Mountain" my main character's history takes a very different direction one evening after he pumps gas for the smartest girl in town . . . .
