The Uncommercial Traveller (Annotated)

Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-The Uncommercial Traveler by Charles Dickens.is a collection of literary sketches and reminiscences written by Charles Dickens, published in 1860-1861. In 1859, Dickens founded a new magazine called Year Round, and the articles "Noncommercial Traveler" would be among his main contributions. He appears to have chosen the title and personality of the Noncommercial Traveler as a result of a speech he made on December 22, 1859 to Commercial Travelers' School London in his role as Honorary President and Treasurer. The person feels good about a writer who liked to travel, not only as a tourist, but also to research and report what he found by visiting Europe, America and giving book readings across Britain. He did not seem content with resting at the end of his career when he had achieved wealth and comfort and continued to travel locally, walking the streets of London in the mold of the flâneur., a "gentleman strolling through the streets of the city". He often suffered from insomnia and his nocturnal wanderings gave him an insight into some of the hidden aspects of Victorian London, details that he also incorporated into his novels. Charles Dickens - Charles John Huffam Dickens FRSA (February 7, 1812 - June 9, 1870) was an English writer and social critic.
